Højskolelærer: Teaching for more than 10 years in this boarding school for adults with responsibilities ranging from delivering existential learning through experiential learning to pastoral care and developing new subjects. Acting as a bouy in the sea guiding students in a direction rather than giving answers or solutions to bigger questions.
Chief Executive for this network of Christian Youth Organisations around the world. Managing the day to day running of the organisation and creating a series of international events. Previously Communications Coordinator: The central connecting point for over 60 national youth organisations throughout the world. Collecting and distributing information, empowering young people and their initiatives, enabling exchanges and international activities and supporting national organisations.
Lecturer Lecturing in the topic of Intercultural Learning at in this multicultural environment of an international academy for dance, music, modern circus and theatre. Teaching topics include culture, stereotypes and prejudices, critical thinking and conflict transformation. The role also embraces the full responsibilities of teaching at a boarding school with pastoral care plus evening and weekend duties overseeing the premises and arranging extra-curricular activities for the students.
Board member. I serve on the executive board of the artistic collective and manage their strategic development of communications and crowd funding campaigns.
Training Facilitator 5 years in the Chairmanship of this European umbrella for 19 youth organisations. I co-ordinated and led training courses and activities throughout Europe – this incorporates everything from developing new concepts and events, successfully applying for funding and advertising and recruiting participants from member organisations to coordinating with the host organisation, leading courses as the course director, facilitating the leadership team and reporting outcomes.
Project Leader A long term international project training young leaders from youth organisations in a Danish boarding school. Teaching topics included: Project management, democracy, organisational development, team dynamics, international fundraising and dilemmas in modern youth work. I created study trips twice a year around Europe exploring the differences and similarities in European youth work as well as visiting and raising awareness of the role of European institutions.
Voluntary leader In this Christian youth organisation. Locally, I was a leader in a group close to where I lived for 10 years, and helped plan, create and organise sessions on a week to week basis for different age groups from 5 – 18 years old. At a city level I organised competitions and events for young people from the area, also leading the cities youth development plan and structural review, and at a regional and national level I have contributed towards national events.
Project Leader Project leader within the councils' archives, creating new working practices and increasing efficiency. Developing inter-department communication within the council and pioneering new methods of increasing productivity through incentives, positive actions and empowering entrepreneurship. This morale raising project was delivered within the time frame and under budget.
Chairman LLIU Project Administrator Contributing to co-ordinate, fund and execute the participation of 500 international participants at the national camp with 13,000 participants of a scouting organisation in Denmark. This team covered everything from securing funding, international travel and globally marketing the event to creating branding, strategies for integration and conflict resolution during the camp.
Various roles Many roles over 6 years varying from marketing their credit card and Customer Services Manager to Kitchen Designer, Head Cashier and Store Duty Manager. I continually took responsibility for my own development and I gained promotion or responsibility through proving my abilities and showing an enthusiastic desire to learn and be challenged.
Course Director For various study sessions held at the European Youth Centre in Strasbourg. These week long events focus on improving participants project management skills, ability to work with people from different cultures and to give space for young people in decision making processes. The role includes full project management of recruitment and selection of trainers and participants, managing all financial aspects and overseeing the construction of the content, program flow and execution.
Project Manager Integration: Does it work? (documentary). A self motivated 3 months project under The European Commission’s Action 3 Youth Program looking to reduce xenophobia and racism by producing a series of documentaries exploring integration issues in 16 European countries. The three 20 minutes episodes exploring young peoples attitudes towards integration in regions of Europe are now available from the EU’s Info Point.
